Alice Cooper
Call him the "master of shock rock" or simply one of rock 'n roll's great showmen, but Alice Cooper's mark is undeniable. A heady blend of controversy and success, Cooper's career debut in 1970 turned the music world upside down with his outrageous clothing, make-up and loud, hard music with sharp-edged lyrics. "When I was 16 and in high school, I didn't have any plans to be in the music industry, I just knew I didn't want to work at a grocery store or the car wash," maintains Cooper, who was raised in Phoenix. "The Beatles were really big at the time and my friends and i thought, 'Hey, we can do that'."

Although performing started as a weekend job, it quickly developed into much more. Among his countless gold and platinum albums are titles such as "Love It to Death," "Billion Dollar Babies," "Welcome to My Nightmare" and "Trash." Long before MTV, Cooper's "Elected" video clip was one of the first story-line, non-performance videos ever produced. Cooper was best known for his colossal concert tours that combined multi-level staging, elaborate scenery, and technical wizardry into a fantastic theatrical experience. After the box set anthology entitled, "The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper," his latest release was the album "Dragontown," a haunting look at the state of the world and where it may be heading. Alice continues to do worldwide concert tours that are still carrying his traditional theatrical trademark.

These days, Cooper has an additional career–golf. "I've been playing ever since I put down the bottle and picked up the sticks over 20 years ago," he explained. "Golf is now a big part of my life." Since 1981, Cooper has become as lethal in golf as he is with his music. He now boasts a 6 handicap, plays five days a week and endorses products for Callaway Golf.

In his private life, Cooper spends as much time as he can with his three children, ages 24, 20 and 13. Cooper is driven to help other children in the Valley of the Sun, as evidenced by his tireless work with Solid Rock, a Christian organization established in 1995. Solid Rock's primary goal is to provide financial assistance and help to children and teenagers in the Phoenix community.

The Solid Rock Family Featuring...
Tony Narducci

It was just over eleven years ago that my relationship with the Solid Rock Foundation began. At the time, I was asked by Executive Director Chuck Savale and Creative Director Justin Ahrens if I wanted to participate as a printing sponsor for the 1st Annual Alice Cooper Celebrity Golf Tournament. I agreed and thus began my journey with SRF and a new direction in my relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now, ten golf tournaments and six Christmas Pudding events later we are preparing for the 11th Anniversary of the tournament. More recently my involvement with the Foundation has brought me the honor of serving on the Foundation's Board as the Chairman. I believe that the Lord introduced me to the work of this foundation with the Mission of serving the needs of Arizona's children while at the same time He was working in my own heart to follow Him as my Lord and Savior. What I have found to be true is that God's plans are at times a mystery to us, but He puts us in situations that make His will increasingly clear.
